The Granite Belt – Queensland.
Queenslands own style Hunter Valley, is located in the cooler south western border region of Queensland. Vineyards are grown at an altitude of around 800m. About 2 hours drive south west of Brisbane.
Well known for the quality fruit and vegetables grown in this region, the area is relatively new to wine growing, with the first started in the 1960’s. That though has not stopped this area from producing some of the smoothest tasting wines in Australia.
There are plenty of cellar doors, to visit with restaurants, street cafés and eateries, all through the region.
Wines from this region are now making their presence known with Symphony Hills Shiraz winning gold at Royal Easter Show in Sydney.
This region is beautiful to visit at anytime of the year, with its low humidity in summer making it feel like a more comfortable autumn, or relax by the log fires of the many accommodations, and guest houses in winter.
Come see why its one of south east Queensland’s best kept retreats.
