Planned by Colonel William Light in 1830, this delightful city has a rectangular grid of streets, with a wide strip of parkland that wraps around and takes up 45% of the total area, seperating the suburbs from the city. Wide tree lined streets and traffic free Rundle Mall makes for a wonderful shopping and browsing experience.
Some of the highlights to visit in Adelaide are South Australian Museum, The Art Gallery of South Australia and Tandanya Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Between The Museum and Cultural Centre, they house some of the most important Aboriginal artifacts in the world. There is als the Adelaide Zoo, Botanic Gardens, a Casino and Central Markets and National Wine Centre of Australia.
