The Warrumbungle National Park, has more than 17 peaks and rocky volcanic spires, rising high from the forested valley floor below.

The spectacular Warrumbungle National Park has many unusual landscapes, peaks and gorges. It is heavily forested and gives visitors to the park - many interesting and exciting activities. Including camping, rock-climbing, bush walking/hiking and magnificent sightseeing.

Distinctive landforms from major volcanic eruptions, over 13 million years ago, created the fantastic surroundings and volcanic vista that we see today. Come see the “Domed Bluff” , “Breadknife” , or the majestic “Grand High Tops” and “Belougery Split Rock”

The Warrumbungle (or crooked) mountains, have been well known to local Aboriginals-with extensive evidence of their occupation in the Warrumbungle National Park area –for thousands of years.
There are also excellent flora and fauna to admire in the Warrumbungle National Park, with over 180 Bird, 52 reptile, 23 mammal and more than 620 plant species, living in harmony in the Warrumbungle National Park.

There is camping in the Warrumbungle National Park-available at 3 different locations. Accommodation can be arranged also in nearby Coonabarabran-the closest town to Warrumbungle National Park.
To best get the history of the Warrumbungle National Park, we would suggest you book a ranger guided tour with the parks on arrival.
